9th Annual MLK Sunday Supper & Discussion

Sunday, January 19 @ 2 PM

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will be hosting its 9th annual MLK Sunday Supper. Lunch will be served at the event. Here, people will come to share a meal and discuss issues that affect their communities.

The free event will take place at the Claremont Graduate University Academic Computing Building in Room 214.

Winter Masquerade Ball

Saturday, January 25 @ 6 PM until 11:30 PM

2020’s Winter Masquerade Ball is Phantom of the Opera-themed and hosted by Madeline Garden. The price of your ticket includes two themed cocktails and a dessert bar. You can also expect live performances by actors portraying characters from the famous play.

Put on your dancing shoes because you’ll be dancing the night away at an authentic French Quarter-style building built in 1927. Customers are mandatory, so make sure to dress the part!

The event is located at Madeline Garden Bistro & Venue.

Los Angeles Vampire Ball 2020

Sunday, February 16 @ 10 PM until Monday, February 17th @ 2:30 AM

The Endless Night Vampire Ball will take place at the Globe Theater. Gates will open at 9 PM for VIPs and 10 PM for general admission. Endless Night is known for hosting vampire costume themed events all over the world. They offer the number one Halloween Soiree in the world, according to TripAdvisor.

This year’s theme will be: Anti-Valentines Day, so make sure to bring out your favorite vampire costumes, like Victorian, Edwardian, Latex, Baroque, and more.

Pomona Community Farmers Market

Saturdays @ 9 AM until 1 PM

The Inland Valley Hope Partners sponsors the year-round Pomona Community Farmers Market. Here you’ll find fresh fruits and produce grown by local farmers. The market takes place rain or shine, so no matter the weather, you can support your local farmer and get quality, nutritious food.

The Farmers Market is one of the few area farmers’ markets that accept federal nutrition assistance benefits like WIC and CalFresh as a form of payment. It’s also the only local market to offer the Market Match program.

Provided through a partnership with Hunger Action LA, the Market Match program provides customers an extra $5 when they spend $10 of their federal nutrition assistance money to purchase healthy produce.

Food available for purchase includes:

Holi Festival of Colors Los Angeles

Saturday, March 7 @ 11 AM until Sunday, March 8 @ 12 AM

The Holi Festival of Colors is an interactive dance with Malinia and Aakansha, Hip Hop, and Rap with J Brave and Charu, Mantra Brads, and more. At this event, you can expect free yoga classes, cuisine, crafts, and hourly color throws.

There will be non-stop live music, and the event is located at Whittier Narrows Park in South El Monte, California.

Tickets cost between $19 and $50, so the earlier you get them, the better and less expensive!
